Burt Reynolds was one of them. A star, a great loving man to Sally Field, but what was his life like before all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood?
Born Burton Leon on Feb. 11th, 1936 Burt had no interest in stardom. Growing up, he had a different life.
With his father being sent to Europe, he as well as his mother and sister went to live in Rock beach Florida.
Starting his debut in Angel Baby, he started to make more success as well as finding romance with his first love Loni Anderson.
His tv appearance in Riverboat was where they met. Sadly, they both fell out of love and divorced.
When he was in the hit movie Smokey and the Bandit he found love again with Sally Field. They never married, as others thought they did.
He also appeared in gun smoke but only stayed on the show for three years. Sadly, his acting wasn't doing well and picked poor choice movies,
such as:
* Rent-a-cop
* Cop and a half
* Meet Wally Sparks
and Boogie nights.
They weren't the best films and it seemed his career in movies and show business was dying.
However, he had a come back in the 2000's with the movie: Hard Times which he also directed, going straight to videos like Waterproof and the hunters moon.
Playing support roles in movies like Mystery, Alaska
where he played Judge Burns, who gave helpful advice to Russel Crowe's character for a hockey team in Mystery, Alaska.
Sure the movie didn't make sense, but it wasn't his worst.
He was parodied by Norm MacDonald on SNL Celebrity Jeopardy and even guest host on some shows.
He was injured in the movie City Heat when his character was struck with a chair. He suffered a joint disfunction in his jaw.
He sadly also filed for bankruptcy.
Now he is no longer with us.
Burt is one of those rare actors that can take a role and make it his own, hiding the fact that his personal life is nothing but tragedy.
We will miss him as well a remember him for every role he was in. If he was a bad guy, a good guy, a cop protecting a child, a lover.
God only knows.
Burt Reynolds is one of a kind. RIP
