The show, Hey Arnold, has started in 1997. And their finale was in 2005. They even had another movie called "Hey Arnold Movie" It wasn't that great. It was about saving the boarding house that Arnold lived in.
This one, however, brought more mysteries about his parents. Arnold lived with his father's parents for years. He always wondered what happened to his parents and the episode, "The Journal" he found a map that his father left for him.
In this movie, Arnold and his class won a trip to San Lorenzo. Most of the clues were there and the trip goes off great. He even runs into one of his Parent's mentors, Eduardo and the trip goes off without a hitch. Helga's sister tags along as well.
But it seems, there is a villain (portrayed by actor Alfred Molina) that wanted Arnold so he could find what is so called "Green Eye people" He traps the rest of the students and Mr. Simmons and takes Arnold with him.
Helga and Gerald decide to find Arnold and figure out the mystery of his parents disappearance.
When the villain finds what he's looking for, with Arnolds help, it seems he is shot with a poisoned dart and falls off a bridge. The real Eduardo shows up to save Arnold and his friends. He soon figures out what happened to his parents. They were alive but in a dead sleep. There was a sleeping sickness that took almost every parent in San Lorenzo, including Arnold's.
Eventually, Helga shows Arnold her locket that she had of him, hoping it would work. It does, and his parents are finally awake ever since he was a baby.
Helga reveals her love towards Arnold, but he knew all along and they finally kiss.
Why was this movie never revealed until now? I guess the creator had no choice until now, with a lot of Hey Arnold fans like me, wanting to know about Arnold's parents. I think it was a great way to end the series, like Ed, Edd n Eddy did for their series. They also ended with a tv movie, and this one ended perfectly. Even though the voice acting has changed to some of the characters and some of the dialog is somewhat sloppy, I don't care. Like me, other fans wanted to know WHAT HAPPENED TO ARNOLD'S PARENTS.
In the end, Arnold thinks he lost his parents once more, only to reveal that they were alive and back at the boarding house all along. This movie was better than the other one that they did a long time ago.
That one was ok, but I think I would this one over that.
Craig Bartlett was a genius and still is on occasion. This helped solve the mystery everyone had been waiting for.
Till then, see it if you haven't and if you did and liked it like I did, it is worth the happy ending Arnold need all this time. Ciao Bloggers.
