This movie did not disappoint us. Why? Well, it seems that the people that created this movie were the grandsons of Charles Schultz. Using kid actors to voice the students, one of them later going on to do stranger things, it seems the story was pretty good.
With the voice casting of Snoopy, they used the late Bill Melendez to play Snoopy and Woodstock. Using some early recordings of his voice was pretty genius. Knowing the original voice actor was gone, it didn't mean his voice talents can still be heard within in Snoopy as well as Woodstock.
What is the story about? Well of course it stars Charlie Brown. There is a new student, the little red-haired girl to Charlie Brown, moving in from the neighborhood. Knowing what Charlie Brown is like, he doesn't want to embarrass himself in front of her. He even has a small crush on her.
On a side plot, Snoopy writes a story about him facing off against the Red Baron, which he usually does in the comics. He soon finds a female dog he falls in love with only for her to get captured. He does what he can do, living out the experience.
The little red-haired girl is considered the main focus of the story. Charlie trying to impress her, only for him to fail. Like at the school dance, or the assembly where he reveals he isn't the smartest kid after the test he takes, and gets a high score on, wasn't his. She soon reveals the truth to him on how sweet and amazing he is on the inside as he is on the outside and decides to be a pen pal of his during the summer.
All the characters are there like Linus, Lucy, Schroder, Peppermint Patty and many more. Even if this movie isn't much like the comics or tv show classics, it doesn't mean we still enjoy it. How do I feel about this movie?
Knowing this movie is meant for kids, and kids at heart like me, it shows that the people behind this movie, do care about the Peanuts gang. The story was amazing, the style was ok. It shows that they had the heart to create a Peanuts gang for the kids of today. And for me, I loved it from beginning to end. Knowing that Charlie is not some average loser, but someone who cares about himself as well as his friends old and new. Good Ol' Charlie Brown!
