New year, same crap

 Same old, same old. It seems we've already been through the new year, however, it doesn't feel any different yet.

    Yeah some people have passed away, and a few more things have happened, but...


Have you noticed nothing EXCITING has happened yet? Ok the Eagles making it to the playoffs is good, but...

   well,

A lot of people feel if they do the same thing everyday, they will get the same reaction. Like wearing the same thing everyday to eating the same food.

    We still have a lot of crap to deal with but nothing...

It seems what we do everyday, can deja vu into another day.

  Every time we see something over, and over again, wouldn't we get board of it?

  Well yes and no.

The new year has already started, and nothing too exciting has happened. With the Super bowl on its way, one state and city will enjoy the excitement while the rest of us, well....you get the picture.

   Everyone experiences the same thing everyday, as if nothing is happening in their lives.
The excitement was drowned out of them.

   Everyone feels that they need something to excite them, good or bad.

It feels even in songs, people express their emotions on how board they are of the same thing over and over. I on the other hand,

     It depends on the day. If I want excitement or if I'm just in the same old rut. Everyone feels that way.
   Other times, when we want excitement.... we do the unexpected, the unknown, the same old things we wouldn't do on a normal day.

   Everyday is different...but with this being the new year, will this be a year that excites us, scares us, or will it be just like every other year....full of sadness, happiness, craziness, and sometimes the same old thing?

Goodbye Captain, Tennille misses you

 If you were ever born in the 70's, you would have known the duo called "Captain and Tennille"

  First off, that's not his name. His real name was Daryl Dragon. Her real name was Toni Tennille.

They were married but separated, she stayed by his side as the Captain passed away in 2019 from renal failure.
They were known for their hit songs such as "Love will keep us together", "Lonely night (Angel Face)", "Muskrat Love"

  Not many people knew they were a couple until their divorce.

He was always known for playing the piano as she would sing hit, after hit, after hit.

"Love will keep us together" was their number one. I hear it all the time in tv shows like "Starsky and Hutch" and many other TV shows.
It seemed they were a hit duo such as Sonny and Cher, and like Sonny and Cher, they divorced and Sonny died. Ironic but, it seems their lover (Captain and Tennille's) was strong till the end. She stayed at his bedside by the time he died.

 

Through thick and thin, most of their hits were number #2 like Love will keep us together, and muskrat Love.

   Not many people were aware, until his full name was revealed, that his name wasn't the Captain, but Daryl Dragon. For me, I never knew until like all of those people, later in his life.


  Like him, another famous celebrity died in early January at the same age he did, Bob Einstein.

Or as I like to call him Marty Funkhouser from the hit show "Curb your Enthusiasm" He was also known as super Dave Osborne. And like the Captain, he died at the age of 76 from Cancer.


We'll miss both of them. They gave us great music and laughter. And they will be remembered for such great songs as well as Bob giving us the "Dave Osborne and Marty Funkhouser"

The end of malls

   Have you noticed something depressing happening here? something that would make you feel sad?

             Back in the 80's they were popular, local hang outs, everywhere and teenagers would crave spending a day as well as their money in a mall.

It's true, I fear that by the end of the new year... most of the malls everywhere, will be gone.




 
     Some malls have survived like the King of Prussia mall in King of Prussia, PA and even the great American mall in St. Paul.

Back in the 80's malls became very popular. With the movie "Valley Girls" Malls were becoming the new trend, until Amazon came along.
 

   These movies would make girls sound stupid, using words like 'so' 'like' 'gag me with a spoon', most words only Valley people would know. But it all took place in a mall. Where they would snack on food, play video games, and spend a s**t ton of money on clothes.

   So, why is this trend dying?



   It could be the economy, or more people shopping on-line so they wouldn't have to set foot in a store. Not every mall is doomed to extinction, but the stores that are in the mall, might be.

  Some stores such as:

     *JCPenny
     *Seaers
     * K'Mart (although that's not in a mall, but still)
     *Music stores like Sam Goody
     * Lord and Taylor

Many stores are doomed to extinction and why, people shopping on-line? God only knows how much longer malls have.

   Amazed that some are still standing, and others are one.

Like drive-in theaters of yesteryear, malls might join them.... not many, but soon, everyone will be buying on line.
  So do we need pizza delivery drivers? Shopping malls? Grocery stores?


Who knows, all I know is everything from the past.. is being taken over by the future. The technology, everything that we feared...having stuff delivered to our door, to satisfy us. It seems that in the future, we'll no longer need a shopping mall.

Is Leo the worst leader

 Ok, this is one thing I need to dig deep on. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Everyone knows who they are. Four turtles fighting crimes. Stopping the evil shredder, trying to find out who they are in a world that doesn't except them as normality.

   Starting around the eighties, there was a cartoon called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" Created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.

   Four Turtles were named after four Italian Renaissance men. Leo from Leonardo DaVinci, Mikey from Michelangelo David, Donatello from Donatello Bardi, and Raphael from Rafaello Urbino.



   Out of all of them, Leo was considered the leader. In Movies, and tv shows (including the new one called "Rise of the Turtles") I have always noticed something. Leo is not the best with helping his brothers out in a jam.

  Even with his guidance from his supposed father, Master Spinter, a giant sewer rat that found them when they were normal turtles, it seems that he couldn't find the right answer.

Even in the horrible Michael Bay movies, it seems Leo can't do anything right.
  In the old cartoon, I've noticed that none of them use their weapons. They would use pizza as a weapon. Well, interesting, but still Leo was not the best Leader in that as well.


    The one's I've been watching was the 2012 version from Nickelodeon. It was 'interesting', 'nice', but did it work?
   YES!

Mostly because not only did they understood the past cartoon from the eighties, but it entertained children from the past, present and future. It made Leo a leader that tries to find himself, and in this version, it seems that it made him less of a leader, and more of a problem.

  Raph was still the tough one, Mikey the goofy one and Donatello the braniac. If I have to put it in another word...

 
 Think of them as the Beatles.

  JOHN= LEO
  PAUL= RAPH
  GEORGE=DONATELLO
  and of course RINGO= MIKEY.  

  So, does that mean John was a bad singer? GOD NO! But it's just another way of saying how they would be.

  Then why is Leo such a bad leader? Is it because he has to be the one to save his brothers from danger? Or if he doesn't do a good job, he would displease Splinter?
I feel that all the characters have their weaknesses, but I fear it shows more in Leo than the other three.

  From the old cartoon, to the new one (which I'm not a big fan of) to the good and bad of the movie franchise. It shows. Leo may not be the best at leading, but he tries his hardest to not only impress his master, but his brothers too.

  Raph can sometimes hold a grudge, Mikey can be a goofball at the wrong time, and with Donatello, he fears that the plans he comes up with, won't work.

    ALL FOUR HAVE FLAWS, and with Leo's more visible to us, it doesn't mean he's the worst leader, he tries his hardest make everything work out right.

Till then, remember, everyone has flaws, and we always try to fix it (even if we are a cartoon) it comes from the minds, of the creators.
